Regional Services

The Regional Services Department is responsible for a wide-range of activities designed to improve the quality of life at the community level.

Criminal Justice Program

Our Criminal Justice Program, funded by the Governor's Office Criminal Justice Division (CJD), serves as the cornerstone for regional planning and support in tackling crime-related issues. We facilitate strategic planning, offer technical assistance to grantees, and coordinate the Criminal Justice Sub-Committee.

Through community involvement and innovative approaches, we address local priorities such as victim services, juvenile justice, law enforcement, mental health, and substance abuse. Our collaboration with law enforcement, victim service organizations, schools, and non-profits ensure a comprehensive approach to crime prevention and intervention.

The program provides technical assistance and workshops for projects related to juvenile delinquency programs, crime prevention initiatives, and victim services for grantees who wish to apply for Public Safety grants through the Office of the Governor’s eGrant’s portal.

Criminal Justice Sub-Committee

The Criminal Justice Sub-Committee (CJSC) is a multi-sector collaborative working group that supports the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission (GCRPC) in enhancing regional public safety. The CJSC reviews local projects from grantees, submitted via eGrants, to ensure they meet the criteria set by the Office of the Governor’s Criminal Justice Devision (CJD).

The sub-committee scores and ranks these projects based on local priorities, established in the Golden Crescent Regional Criminal Justice Plan, and recommends them for funding to the GCRPC Board of Directors. Composed of members from various sectors such as first responders, juvenile justice, mental health, victim’s services and more, the CJ Sub-Committee develops strategic plans, advises on public safety programs, and ensures efficient use of regional public safety funding.

Crime Prevention Through Community Collaboration
