9-1-1 Program
What is a 9-1-1 rural address?
A 9-1-1 rural address is the "physical" entry way to your property that lays outside of city limits. Your 9-1-1 rural address will be used no differently than a “regular” address. When you dial 9-1-1 from a landline phone in an emergency, this is the location information that is available to a dispatcher. When you are at home and dial 9-1-1 on a cell phone in an emergency, this will be the address you must tell the dispatcher.

What is the purpose of 911 rural addressing?
The 911 rural addressing service is designed to improve public safety by saving time in locating 911 incoming emergency calls. Your physical address tells the emergency dispatcher exactly where you live. This information can then be relayed to the proper responding authority such as the Police, Fire, and Ambulance. This enables them to find your residence quickly and easily.

How do I get a 9-1-1 address?
To obtain your 9-1-1 rural address fill out the “9-1-1 Rural Address Application” below and email it to addressing@gcrpc.org, or call 361-578-1587, Option 3 for more information.
The application can also be submitted at the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission, 1908 N Laurent St. Ste 600. Victoria TX, 77901.
