2-1-1 is a free, easy-to-remember number that connects callers with health and human services in their area. No matter where you live in Texas, you can call and get referrals to services available in local communities. It is a free, multilingual line answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all year round. 

Calls can be made from a conventional telephone, a cell phone or a TTY phone for persons with hearing impairment. Operators are trained, knowledgeable staff members who work in communities in Texas for hometown agencies, such as United Way offices and Regional Planning Commissions.
